Madrid

Last time I was in Madrid was more than ten years ago. Today I found a totaly different city: very international , clean , modern and cool. The architecture of the buildings is amazing and the sun shines bright everyday , even if it's freezing ! Francesco is very busy working at his website , so I took the opportunity to get lost in the city by myself. The Collection Thyssen Bornemisza is always my favorite. The baron Thyssen Bornemisza was an illuminated collector with a great taste and of course a large pocket. He collected one of every major artist...it's a real jewel musem .I also love to just walk around and discover at every corner a small" plaza" , a church, or a local market. I almost joined life in a convent after visiting the Royal Monastery of the Barefoot Nuns who still live in a 16th century baroque commotion , filled with outstanding works of art. The convent can host only 33 nuns, at this time they are 22. Of course I asked to be cloistered. Can you imagine a safe and quite life of just working and praying ....divine stability ! And be surrounded by the beauty of centuries of art ! Oh , just sublime !
Madrid was a great rediscovery. I'm heading to Paris for few days to meet some friends. I'm devastated to leave Francesco ...but I'm going to see him again in few days in Rome where we'll celebrate Christmas with our families.

We found in a bookstore the spanish dvd version of the movie I was in and Francesco's new book "Trunks".Francesco bought the book and signed it for me!

Francesco and his Spanish buddies

The view from Francesco's penthouse bay window. I enjoyed wonderful pink sunsets from here.

Cristiano,I totally agree with you about Madrid even though I`ve never been there. But I`m enchanted from what I see from the TV or some books about this city.
That`s also why I see the cycle tour of Spain every year which ends with some tours thru Madrid itself. That`s the only opportunity for me to see Madrid for now...
Have fun in Paris!

Kisses to you and Francesco!

You are too funny! You wanted to be cloistered with the nuns! hahaha! I love the Gothic architecture though. Gorgeous! Cool to go shopping with Francesco. Then hop off to Paris to be with pals and then to Roma to be with la familia, not too shabby a way to go for Christmas time. I'm with Toni, please post about Rome! I miss it so much!
