Back from Italy

I have been out of touch for few weeks. I was in Milan for business during the Womens Fashion Week. The atmosphere was as exciting and sparkling as always : lots of skinny models, celebrities, parties and that tireless, superficial circus of the fashion industry that moves a lot of money even in this bad economy.
The Giorgio Armani fashion show. Timeless elegance. Mr Armani is so fit and energetic ! God bless the Italian genes. My sister Cate attended the show as well. Of course she was first row!

Roberto Cavalli designed a limited edition (only for the Italian market) of the Diet Coke bottle. In Italy we called it Coca Cola Light. Don't ask me why ! The launch party was at the Just Cavalli Cafe' in Milan with live performances by Ne-Yo and Kelly Rowlands.
After Milan I stopped in Rome for a weekend to see my family and friends. I visited for the first time this amazing museum in the Ostiense area . It's a 1912 old power station that's no longer in service. The architecture of the spaces is industrial and scenographic : a spectacular unusual setting to display roman sculptures from the warehouses of the Capitolini Museums. The contrast between modern and ancient works together perfectly.

My dear friend Carmine came from Naples on a Sunday to see me in Rome. We spent some quality time together chatting about art, literature and boys ...like two old refined ladies.

What is the name of that cathedral in the first pic? GORGEOUS!

Love the Cavalli Coke bottle. I don't drink soda but I'd buy one of those just to put on display.

That museum is genius, love the juxtaposition of classical and the industrial.

So when will be the skinny models era finally over??

Now I have another reason to return to the Eternal City - a museum I have not visited. Your photos are spectacular as always! You look so buff standing next to Cavalli's Coke Light - Are you working out some more?

Doug , the gothic cathedral is the famous Duomo in Milan.I was just walking by to join my friends for evening cocktails, I took a turn in a narrow street and this magnificent image just appeared in front of my eyes !

Sue,the museum is called Centrale Montemartini. Check the website if you're more curious.
