Today my hometown buddy Cristiano ( yes same name,both from Rome, just few more abs! ) came to visit me at my Fifth Avenue office. Cristiano is a professional model in Milan now ; we met few years ago in New York when he was starting his career. The 53rd Viennese Opera Ball

Last night my dear friend Carol Alt , former supermodel and now actor and author, took me, as her date, to the Annual Viennese Opera Ball held at the Grand Ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria in New York. Carol was the host of the evening together with Stephen Baldwin. I know Carol from many years and she has been my model icon since I started my career in the fashion industry in the '80. She appeared in a lot of italian movies too and now after writing two books about "eating raw" she is back on tv, here in the States, on the show " The Apprentice" .



The Viennese Ball was pure "old European glamour" ! It 's a tribute that the American Governament pays every year to Vienna and the Austrian culture. Debutante daughters of prominents Austrian Dignitaries take their first waltz escorted by the cutest cadets of the United States Military Academy. Imagine step back in times when good manners and elegance were everyday lifestyle . It was like beeing on the set of the Martin Scorsese movie " The age of Innocence". I was in heaven : the enchanting rustle of the taffeta gowns , the romantic music of Strauss, the candle lights, the chocolate Sacher cake, the cute austrian boys.....ah ...I think I'm in the wrong century!!

The perfume

I always had a fetish for fragrance's commercials : in few seconds they have the power of evocate a feeling, a state of mind and of course an underable desire to posses that smell. Here's some of my favorites that of course feature gorgeous models, touching music and intoxicating "catch phrases". Aqua di Gio' is an homage to a very dear friend.

Here's the photo everybody are talking about ...yes Damien performed his "signature move" once again last weekend in Vegas ! And Angelo doubled the action for a full steamy disco facial ! I have to say I don't mind being a lollipop ..specially if the tongues are so hot !

Golden Globes

I'm heading to Los Angeles for the Golden Globes that are scheduled next Jan 13th . This year is very complicated award season because of the writers' strike. I'm not sure the stars will show up on the red carpet and that represents a big loss for all the fashion designers who will miss the opportunity to showcase their collections and of course a huge media exposure. But I think that the writers are right and the Hollywood community seems to support them. I'm not sure what 's going to happen with the live show ...I guess we just have to wait and see how the situation will evolve. A lot of my fittings are on hold. Anyway in the last few days I saw like three of the nominated movies a day just to be prepared . So far nothing really amazed me , overall I think there are not good movies out there. The frenzy pr machine starts again ! Here we go ! At least it's gonna be warmer on the west coast !

This picture has been taken during a break from filming. It's a very sad scene in the movie : Gabriel Garko was in the hospital dyieng of Aids ( that's why he has that "sick" looking make up )and all his friends rushed there to support him. We were filming in a real hospital. Gabriel was so sexy even if he was about to die that I asked the director if I could have a sex scene with him. Everybody started laughing and we had to stop filming ! Gabriel wanted to strangle me , because it was a very intense and difficult scene for him ,but we could not stop laughing !
