Grand Tour

I've been out of reach for almost a week : I was in Rome for Easter and on my way back to New York I stopped in Copenhagen.
Europe has always a quite unique spirit : art and culture are everywhere , a stimulating rollercoaster for my eyes and mind.
I have been to museums, art exibitions, opera, ballet and of course I ate a lot !

Italy is so chic that even the sewer caps are designed by Fendi !
Denmark was a nice surprise : a great " geographically small" country where everybody is goodlooking, blond and tall like their viking ancestors. My name is pretty popular here because of their famous king Christian IV who built in '600 the most beautiful castles in Northen Europe. People here love to decorate their homes , they have a phenomenal royal ballet school, they wear red accessoires ...and everything is very clean . They only smoke too much and everywhere !

The Bloggers Affair

It was just a matter of time ..and it did finally happen : bloggers Cristiano and Sue met for the first time last night in New York ! The excuse was the opening of the Internatinal Asian Art Fair at Asian Society on Park Avenue. Asian art dealers from all over the world showed their exquisite museum quality pieces to a very sophisticated and " colorful" crowd . An elegant dinner followed in the grand ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel overlooking Central Park.
Sue was so nice to accept my invitation and traveled by train from CT for more than two hours. I was late to pick her up at Penn Station : not a good start for a first date ! But the pleasure and the excitment to meet won over ! Sue is the most extraordinary soul : she was wearing the perfect outfit for the night a gorgeous cobalt silk jacket from Vietnam , that matched her vibrant and ecletic personality. We have so much in common : we share a passion for travels and adventure , we nourish the desire of knowledge to discover always what's around the corner. We love arts , literature, movies and that basic state of "open mind" that makes you realize how beautiful life is. Thank you Sue for taking the chance of meeting a complete stranger over the internet ... I truly believe in the power of " connection" : human beings are all meant to meet and share. This was a great experience !

My birthday night at the Museum

As in the famous movie , last night the American Museum of Natural History in New York came back to life with the most goodlooking and stylish young crowd . The annual " Winter Dance Gala " to raise money for the museum conservation was sponsored this year by Roberto Cavalli. So I spent my birthday working , dealing with paparazzi and press , making sure all my " bitches" got their media coverage wearing my company designs. The event was a great success:everybody had great time ,the museum rooms re-designed a la Cavalli looked stunning! Anne Hathaway sang " Happy Birthday " for me... it was a lot of work but after all another memorable night...living the time of my life...

March 11th , Christiano's Birthday

In the fashion and celebrities world we freeze our age : we have stages like the 30 and 40 years old that last for decades. But I always believed that ,like every good wine , we become better with time .Today I turn 39, I feel like a kid and I'm fucking fabulous !

Save Venice

In a stormy night yesterday Cristiano and Erik attended the Iridescent Ball of the Young Friends of Save Venice in New York. The evening's theme was inspired by moonlit nights in Venice when reflections dancing on the palazzi walls along the canals. The proceeds of the evening went to the restoration of two landascape paitintings by Marco Ricci in the Accademia Galleries in Venice. All the young swans of the New York high society attended this lovely gala held in the stunning rooms of the Metropolitan Club on Fifth Avenue.

Tom Ford

Visiting the New Museum of Contemporary Art on Bowery street in New York , I discovered in the bookshop a shocking ad for the latest Tom Ford men's fragrance. I have seen the official ones before in fashion magazines , but never this one with the bottle nestled in a hairy man's butt. I'm a huge admirer of Tom Ford esthetic vision, I loved his work at Gucci and YSL , but I'm not sure I like this new concept of promoting his fragrance.Don't you think it's a little bit too easy ? Sex sells.. we know...but come on

I like better this old ad during his YSL years. Strong , but more sophisticated.

The origin of the World

My fascination for the female genitalia continued this weekend with this spectacular and powerful painting titled " the origin of the World " by french painter Gustave Coubert. It's part of a retrospective I missed last December in Paris , but luckly came to New York and it's at the Metropolitan Museum until May 19th . Coubert was the father of french realism in 1800 : a strong painter, revolutionary and free spirit, famous for his intense selfportraits , his realistic landscapes and his sensual nudes almost too provocative for his time. He had, like me,a passion for " sleeping beauties" portraited in between mythological figures and high profile prostitues. His canvas are big in sizes and they just capture your senses. I loved to rediscover his art and vision.

I ended my weekend with another powerful and sensual artist : russian conductor Valery Gergiev who directed today the Vienna Philarmonic Orchestra for a sublime performance at Carnegie Hall. I discovered Maestro Gergiev in St Petersburg few years ago, where he's director of the opera Mariinsky Theater. Gergiev is a physical conductor who gives his soul on stage and transports you into a musical journey like no other. Seeing him live is a true experience and if his talent is merged with high profile European musicians like today 's concert... then it 's pure nirvana !

PP

I always believed and history confirmed to be the strongest power of all..what I call "pp" : the "pussy power". The magical and divine power that a woman has on a man , the power of bewitching him and make him doing anything for her , something that I always admired in women and of course envied . The movie I saw last night " The other Boleyn girl" is about this theme . In the name of the " pussy " wars have been turned , dinasties have been united , pages of history have been changed for ever ! Natalie Portman and Scarlet Johansson star in this faux soap opera style movie about Anna Boleyn and her female power on British King Henry VIII , that made him divorce, decapitate his wife Catherine of Aragon and ultimatly divide England forever from the Catholic Church. Opulently staged , but highly manipulated from historical facts , the movie is entertaining and worth watching.
Ah.. if only I had a " pussy " ... I 'm sure right now I was ruling the world !
