The new commercial of Nicole Kidman for Scweppes has been filmed at the breathtaking hotel Lake Palace in Udaipur. I was so fortunate to stay in that hotel during my trip to India in 2005.The Lake Palace Hotel is located in the middle of Lake Pichola : a dream of white marble and mosaic glistening in the moonlight. It was built in 1746 as summer palace of Maharana Jagat Singh II.
Set against the backdrop of the majestic Aravalli Mountains on one side of the lake, and lofty palaces on the other, the Lake Palace Hotel spreads across a four-acre island – an almost surreal vision in marble. The Royal Butlers descendents of the original palace retainers look after all contemporary comforts and ensure that all guests are treated like Royalty!
